kishio suga: Situated Latency

Published on the occasion of the exhibition held at Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (January 24 – March 22, 2015).

From landmark early works such as Parallel Strata (1969), to the Protrusion assemblages of the 1980s, and a new installation of concrete blocks conceived specially for the museum's front yard, this exhibition provided the first institutional survey of Suga's work in Japan since the late 1990s.

The catalogue features texts by the artist, Yuko Hasegawa, and Simon Groom, as well as original research into Suga's production notebooks by Naoko Seki. Furthermore, it includes an extensive chronology of the artist's exhibitions, writings and awards from 1967 to 2015.
