Expanded Self Space |
Divided Orientation of Space
Published for the exhibition Kishio Suga: Expanded Self Space, held at Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo (May 25 – June 30, 2018).
Expanded Self Space follows Suga's solo exhibition Divided Orientation of Space at Tomio Koyama Gallery in 2017, both of which presented the artist's newest large-scale assemblages. This catalogue features images of works from both exhibitions.
Curator Mami Kataoka's essay, Probing Situations, reflects on the recent surge of international interest in Suga's work, his participation in the Paris, Sydney, and Venice Biennale's in the 1970s, and key works from this exhibition to discuss the evolution of his practice.
