Kishio Suga’s first institutional solo exhibition in China held at the He Art Museum, Foshan

Corresponding Spaces
He Art Museum, Foshan, China
April 8 – July 21, 2024

This exhibition presents an expansive overview of Kishio Suga’s art making, featuring installations, assemblages, and works on paper from the 1970s to the 2000s.

Several historical installations made for solo exhibitions at Tokyo Gallery are being shown together for the first time: Supported Surrounding (1987), Disseminating Territory (1996), Airflow (2006), The Cultivation of Mother Earth (2000), and Behind the Mirrors (2003). The presentation of assemblages is one of the most comprehensive to date, featuring rare works constructed from cardboard, sandpaper, wood, metal, and other materials, representing every decade of the artist’s practice.
