Centre Pompidou-Metz acquires Law of Peripheral Units, 1998

Following the conclusion of Japanorama: New Vision on Art Since 1970, curated by Yuko Hasegawa at the Centre Pompidou-Metz in late 2017, the museum has acquired Kishio Suga's Law of Peripheral Units, 1997.

Originally conceived for the artist's 1997–1998 retrospective, which traveled from the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art to three other institutions in Japan, this work was installed in the Pompidou-Metz's atrium, where it served as the opening act to Hasegawa's critically acclaimed exhibition spanning visual arts, design, fashion, performance art, and music.
